I think that even if you contact here, you will not see the sunbird ❗ If you are in Honolulu now, it is better to visit directly and make a reservation 😃 Phone number If you know it, you can also call. It's okay in Japanese.
I have been here few times for both dinner and lunch. People are all very friendly and kind, excellent service (they provide a clean sweater if you feel cold due to AC). I love the area where chef cooks right in front of you, amazing Japanese style. For the dinner seafood is expensive, there is california range chicken in the menu, which is delicious, for a reasonable price. Lunch menu has great options where you can pick a combination of delicious chicken, shrimp, sirlion etc for a pretty reasonable price.Additionally, they bring salad, soup for lunch and dinner. Dinner also contains very high quality icecream. Definitely I will go back!
Traditional Japanese cuisine. Do request seating at the sushi bar. We had a wonderful selection of amazing fresh nigiri and sashimi. Their sea urchin and snapper were sweet and fresh. The sushi master was such a lovely man. Frequented by local Hawaiian Japanese. Loved it.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. (Chef's special of the day)
Best lunch specials in WaikikiStaff is awesome, host is super nice:)They get you seated immediately
Server messed up order two times can’t hear deaf
Best service and food anywhere we visited
As usual, Resraurant Suntory has excellent service and the food is fantastic!
Was very good, great food and great service.
Reservations required. Bit pricey but good food and service. Loved their seafood. Suntory beer is hard to find in the US mainland.
Some of the best Japanese food eaten in or out of Japan. + Great service
This is tepanyaki without the knife throwing and strobe lights. Just straight up excellent food. The quality was first class. Cooked in front of you but no flash. The cook was informative and he served the scallops sashimi style. It was fantastic. I highly recommend this place for high quality food.
Its a little pricey but the food and the ambiance is great
I think this might be the best Japanese food in Waikiki. Service is friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is very pleasant. Prices are very reasonable, though I have only eaten here for lunch.
it was ok. nothing wow'ed me. just ok. good place if u r in big group. teppan-yaki. ordered tempura and sushi rolls on side.
The food is ok. But dont have lots of choice for chicken eater.
Absolutely fantastic. Fresh, quality, balanced. Staff outstanding. Recommend without hesitation.
Super fresh sashimi! Highly recommend the chief special sashimi! The eel rice is super tasty! And even I ordered a one bowl rice taste super good! Awesome food! And very nice waiter!
Good stuff. You know you're in the right Japanese restaurant when it's filled with Japanese tourists.
Awesome service. Friendly staff. The presentation of all the food are very nice. The flavor is authentic Japanese flavor with a little kick of Hawaiian flavor on one of the appetizer we had. This is one of our favorite Japanese restaurant.
Suntory has been in the Royal Hawaiian Center almost since the day they opened which is a testament to how popular they are. They specialize in popular Suntory brand drinks like their premium malt and Highball. Food is good and comes in set menu style, ala carte, or you can sit and enjoy the show on a hot stove where the chefs cook in front of you. A little something for everyone.
Amazing food and amazing service! Our 1 hour wait for normal dining (not teppanyaki) turned out to be only 15 minutes, but would have been worth the hour regardless!! And they gave us free pens at the end, so cute :)
It's been a while since I was here last time. This place is an ultimate japanese foods experience outside Japan. There's Sushi bar, teppan-yaki and Washoku tables offers whole varieties of Japanese foods. Their services are a little towards slow side though all of servers are nice. I definitely recommend lunch time since dinner time are twice much.
Came here with my parents. We ordered osusume, kaiseki and sushi courses. They are all amazing and portion is very big compared to other similar style courses I have eaten in California. Exceeds expectations! Our waitress is very considerate. Such a great experience for our family.
Try the sushi Bar for an amazing experience
Food just OK. Service is awesome.
Great sushi and sashimi. English , Japanese spoken. All the other customers spoke japanese. It is a very traditional sushi bar.Very good toro. Pricing is good for wakiki.Suntory beer & other drinks. Oddly enough, after talking with the head sushi chef, realized where I had met before. High end japanese restaurant in Newport Beach ca.Small world.
Always our family's go-to place for lunch. When it comes to quality, price point, and atmosphere, Restaurant Suntory is simply the best. A diamond in the rough of Waikiki!
We really enjoyed this restaurant that went there twice in one week. First time for regular seating, second time for the teriyaki experience. The sushi and sashimi was excellent. Teriyaki experience was very good as well. If we were to come back the third time, and we actually may right before our flight out, it would be for the tuna belly sushi and the sweet shrimp sushi.
Food variety is spectacular. Then the food is so tasty. Must visit!!!
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Hawaii. Great authentic flavors with fantastic service. Can get a little pricey but worth it. Try going for lunch for more affordable options. Parking is in the Royal Hawaiian shopping center, so it can get crazy during lunch and dinner times. Be sure to make a reservation...they even have online reservations. Tip: get the coffee jelly dessert!
Best Japanese food I've had. We had lunch and we're so impressed we tried to make dinner reservations on the spot, but unfortunately they were completely booked. I need to go back to Hawaii and try dinner. Kids were super impressed with the roasted eel, five point five stars!...and all you parents know how hard it is to impress teenagers. 😁
Perfect - high class compared others
It's so clean and they give you ice cream right After! I recommend this place very much
Solid Japanese restaurant. I've always eaten well here. Great sashimi, tempura and sets. Classically good service too. It's usually pretty busy so there's a nice hum going as you eat, but not so loud that conversation is difficult. Lastly, the coffee jelly dessert awesome. So simple: vanilla ice cream, coffee jelly and a little Kahlua. Don't miss it.
Visited with my family for lunch. Waiting time and served dishes were decent. They are all absolutely Japanese taste and volume. We are pretty satisfied. The only thing they are missing is the way to serve for the customers. The attitude was not comfortable or warming. It is like just providing the food. That's not the Omoteoashi mind.
In my opinion it is overpriced, the food is nothing special, and there is no tepanyaki "show" to entertain customers. They may as well cook the food in the kitchen.
Very reasonably priced lunch menu. Large portions. Good food. I had the Bara-Chirashi ($18) and it was a massive bowl. There were tons of fish and mushroom bits inside. It was delicious, however, about halfway through the variety did feel a bit too much. We also tried the Hokkai don ($19) which was sliced sashimi salmon with zuke sauce, mayo-crab, and salmon roe. This bowl was amazing and would highly recommend. The maguro avocado poke don was not as good as I expected. it was a very different taste compared to local poke bowls and I was not a big fan of that. The soba and the tempura were all very good.
Worth the price. Great food and selections. Coffee jelly is a killer! Must try.
Good dinning experience until our waiter got too busy. We had to wait for a few things for a fairly long time. The food tasted okay. For the price we paid for the teppanyaki, we expected little more.
Sushis were delicious. Prices of items within reach except few. Services were good too. Service charge recommended on cheque seems high.
Incredible meal, the sashimi was very fresh, the abalone was flavorful and the meat was very tender.
Worst ever! Not authentic at all. Super Americanized
So delish food!!!
Preferably make a reservation when you plan to go. Food is cooked in front of you. Ingredients are of high quality. Food is delicious.
Solid stuff. Shame sushi counter is small
Service and food was average, way over priced. We would go back to that restaurant.
I will give a zero star if I can. No customer service, at all!!! The waitress here are rude!!
bring your money, and appetite. our cook was fabulous and the food was oiishi! parking will cost something depending on where you park, and check for street/community events before planning to visit.
Amazing authentiv Japanese food in Waikiki! We love the Salmon belly and all the dishes. The only issue is that the regular sukiyaki beef is not that tender. Still a wonderful place for dinner!
Good menu with a wide variety of Japanese dishes at not unreasonable prices. Also s great collection of Japanese whiskeys. Hibiki 21 for $28 seemed like a great deal to me.
